quarter of a century old . . .

Yupp, im a quarter of century old now already.. haha. 25yrs old. I'm so privileged to be able to say tat! hahaha. It feels like not so long ago when I celebrated my 24th birthday last year, and now another year has passed by. In the past when I was still in school uniform (ie. Primary, Secondary and JC), my birthdays always fell just before the term1 exams, so needless to say, I wouldnt have been able to celebrate much. Now, it falls just before (or during) the mid term break, so at least I have time for a breather and really enjoy it! :) haha.

Havent been touching my blog for quite some time.
School has been crazy -- Lots and lots of work and stuffs to catch up on.

I've been the most consistent for Science of Music, mainly because I have my interest in it :) There are things that are music-ly, but there are also stuffs that are new to me, and provide an alternative, more technical aspect of music to me. The prof tends to waste time at times. He can start the lecture proper like 40mins into the lecture slot. Before that, either long recaps are done, or admin stuffs covered. But still, going for that lecture is a relief because it is more relaxing and simpler to understand, instead of lectures which feel like I need a code-book to decipher unknown, seemingly coded content.

Monday nights lectures are tiring, but more interesting. Not because of the presence of extraordinary incentives, but because the content taught are practical stuffs, and applicable to real life and happenings. At least I know about cars abit more than I did before. And yes, F1 can actually be quite interesting! As in, the engineering technical aspect of F1, other than the racing part. Hehs :P

And I must say, I hate my Materials lecturer!
1) He sucks at teaching.
2) He owes us tutorial solutions. haha.
Well, the IVLE link to his module is not even open up till now! I wonder when that link will ever be open and be filled with useful stuffs (if it ever will.).

Tuesday nights are interesting too. Reporting statistics in media is an interesting module. And having a lively humorous and practical lecturer kind of makes things more interesting and easier to understand too. (btw, he appeared in yesterday night's Sin Min Ri Bao.) I hope I can score well for that module and do some winching up for my overall cap. sigh.

For my design module, I've been going to the workshop at least twice to three times a week, but usually, only a small portion of things get done because we are able to use only one machine! So if things have to be done using the CNC machine, all 5 or 6 of us can only crowd around the machine while probably 2 of us can really do something at any one point of time. Of course, if there's other more 'physical' things to be done, for eg. hack-sawing the Aluminium plates, then more of us can be kept occupied. It is kind of fun actually, working with stuffs hands-on in the workshop, but it can only be fun if you're really working on things, not waiting. I'm still trying to find the chance to learn how to program with the machine to make machining life easier. haha. Oh yes, Jin Yuan (not sure if his name is spelt correctly) has been extremely helpful too, having offerred to teach us how to do the programming, after seeing us so desperately working at the CNC machine, bit by bit, sweating everything out the tough way.

And something I must say, (no advantages to me for a little advertisement) my team is really really lucky to have met with extremely helpful and kind industrial people.

1) SATS have been patient and supportive as we generated, and subsequently, developed our ideas, concepts and designs.

2) Stanley has been providing continuous help and support for us as well.

3) Our following suppliers were also extremely kind and helpful, going the extra mile to provide us more information and suggestions for what we can use:
- Castor and Wheel Singapore [
http://www.castorwheel.com.sg/],
- Bansbach (in Singapore) [
http://www.bansbach-asia.net/],
- Superfix [
http://www.superfix.com.sg/].
- We also have another 2 helpful companies (Rollers and Fabrication), have yet to get their company details from the guys.

It'l be hard for me to forget the time when Sam and I first went down to Castor and Wheel Singapore at Kaki Bukit, and until he gave us his name card, we didnt have a hoot that he was the GM, and we still thought that he was simply just another employee. He was wearing the same uniform as everyone else, and his desk was the same size with similar equipment to other staff, and placed in the common area of the office. And Sam also related to me that our rollers supplier was also super kind and also gave us recommendations of companies which can possibly help us more in future, plus also gave us one long roll of rubber, free, after knowing that our budget has nearly been reached and we wont have enough money to buy any more stuffs.

Haha. Well, Mid-semester break is now here. But I dont think I have much time to slack. There's too little time for too many things. I have 3 quizzes on the week 9 -13 Mar. Plus I shld try to accomplish more stuffs for machining this week too. Well, no point sighing. Can only pressed on. haha..

Looking forward to a week's break :) [with hopefully time to catch up on studies].
Thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday yesterday :)

And Thanks Dear :) for everything =)
